During the Vietnam War, the information about the American military can be shown us through the TV screen and the newspapers. It benefited for that the American military allowed journalists to document the war in combat zones. From 1962 to 1975, a wide range of photographers took a lot photographs referring to all aspects of the war, which took benefits for those people who wanted to learn more about the war. At the same time, these journalists paid a great deal of effort to grab the precious moments.

Describe:

In the picture, we can see a soldier who was setting in the middle was playing guitar. He looked very sad. The soldier wearing the black glasses and setting at the left hand of the player was attracted by the music. The guy who set behind them closed his eyes was taking a rest.  

Reaction:

Although it is a rest time for the soldiers, they all looked so depressed, sad, and unhappy. Why? Could it be because they were so tired; they missed their lovers; or they want to end of this war. I really hope there are no wars in our world. I don’t want to see the sorrow in soldiers’ face.

Describe:

 In this picture, we can see a solider fell into a hole. He stretched out his hands to his companions for help. His four companions rushed hastily, two guys who seized his left hand were smoking; the other guys who seized his right hand had no time to take off the heavy equipment. They were did their best efforts to pulled their friend out of this hole.

Reaction:

This picture showed us the friendship among soldiers. In normal life, they talked with each other and played together; during the war, they were partners in fighting side by side. The war is very cruel. But, now I felt the warm about their actions. They must unite tightly, and then they can beat back the enemy and win the war.

Describe:

 In this picture, we can know this happened in a hospital, because there were a lot of medicinal equipments. And we can see everywhere is white color: the war, the clothes, the bed sheets etc. A beautiful and young nurse was taking care of an injured solider. The soldier’s head was hurt and he looked very painful. The nurse might be talking some good words to calm him down.

Reaction:

After I saw this picture, on one side, I am very sympathetic to those injured in the war fighters. I felt again the war was full of the hurt, the violence, and the blooding. On the other side, I am very grateful to those doctors and nurses who worked hardly in the rear.

Recently, a new movie released in China which stands high in public estimation. Its Chinese name comes from the Chinese classic books. But it was translated in English is called The Message.

The background of this story is about the coexistence of Wang Jingwei puppet government, Japanese troop and the Chinese Communist in Chinese Anti-Japanese War. Wang Jingwei puppet government and Japanese troop made a treaty to contract confederation. But, there was a huge hostility between in Wang Jingwei puppet government, Japanese troop and Chinese Communist. In order to maintain the Chinese sovereignty, the Chinese militiamen were trying their best to dislodge the Japanese troop. So, the primary coverage of this story relates to the spy. Initially, some delegates of Wang Jingwei puppet government and Japanese troop were assassinated by Chinese Communist. Wang Jingwei puppet government and Japanese troop confirmed that the spies of the Chinese Communist penetrated in them. So, they allocated a large of manpower to investigate who was the spy .A general of Japanese troop was granted concession and was scheduled five days to resolve this problem. Swiftly, five officers were raised doubts in Wang Jingwei puppet government. They were assembled to get the investigation in a special place. The beginning of the investigation was chaotic. The second day, there was a false overtones which implied the secretary of commander in chief was the spy. He said he was harmless and solicited to be set free. Because the general made arbitrary decisions which led the officer was killed. But, later it was proved this was a mistake. In remaining days, the director of military business committed suicide; the minister of coding office who was the most literate among them was removed from suspected.  At last, the outcome was that there were two spies in Wang Jingwei puppet government .One spy was found and killed. She was an officer of coding office has a stronger diplomacy among them. The other spy wasn’t found. He was the minister of military staff. His secession has a very important significance to the Chinese Communist, which related to the withdrawal of the false action of the Chinese Communist.

     Because there were a lot of soldiers and people made the supreme sacrifice during the war. So, we won the final success of the war.

The nuclear weapon is a kind of very dreadful weapon which has huge destructive power. At the same time, after the explosion of the nuclear bomb, there will be lots of influence on local people and this influence will last a long time. So, we should control it and prevent its extension.

The conflicts between the Native Americans and Americans and Europeans can date back to a long time ago. Along with the flourish of the expeditions, the Americans and Europeans began to invade the Native Americans’ homeland. From then on, the wars and conflicts happened frequently.In the spring of 1868, an agreement was achieved which was committed to the peace. Later, because the gold was found, the conflicts happened again and continued to the present.

If I’m a Sioux solider. I will donate all my having to my race. I will fight for protecting my fellow countrymen, my homelands and our possessions. I hope we can win the war, get back the lands which were left by our ancients, and have a peace life.

In the early time, there were no assured rules to divide the land. After the final standard to distribute the land was published: The Land Ordinance of 1785. The government sold a full section of land: 640 acres with the price of per acre is $1. In 1800, the price decreased to $1.25 per acre. But it can be sold a half and allowed the payments in four phases. This situation was until to 1854.During the war between American and Mexico (1846–48), people supplied that got  land first and paid later. Later, there were a lot of problems which held up the establishment of the homesteading laws until to 1862.

 On May 20, 1862, President Abraham Lincoln singed a new law. Daniel Freeman grabbed this chance to draft a land claim with some officials on the New Year’s Eve in 1863.

Finally, in 1862, the Homestead Act was passed and signed into a new law.Every American citizens can get his own homeland by three steps.

  I pretend a soldier John was fighting in the Civil War. The letter was written to my wife Ann. My parents lived with her. I haven’t children now.

Dear my wife Ann:

Hi! Honey!

We have not seen each other for half a year since I left home to participate in the Civil War. I miss you so much. After fighting, when I take a rest, when I eat or when I lie down. I always remember you and the time we spent together. What a wonderful period of time!

Now, we are rushing to the next spot, there is a short time to have a rest. I don’t know when I can write to you next time and I do not know if there is an opportunity to write to you.  So, I take use of the short time to write to you. The war is so cruel. Every day, so many people die. Some of them are my friends. A few seconds ago, we talked together, but after a few seconds, they were shot and died. At the beginning of the war, I was very excited in it. But, now, I feel very sad. I hate this war. In this war, whether the soldiers are my comrades in arms, or the enemies. They are all my compatriots .I really hope that this cruel war will end quickly. 

You are my hope in my life. I have known no greater joy than in the few years since I met you. I hope to I will be so lucky that I have opportunity to spend the rest time of my life with you. I hope the worst thing will not happen to me. Unfortunately, I will never come back, please don’t be too sad, I hope you can live staunchly in rest life. In additional, I need you to take care of my parents. I believe you can do well without my help. You will be the pillar of our family.

I have a lot of words that I want to tell you, but there is no time left. At last, I want you know that I love you more than words can express. I will be waiting impatiently for the time when we can all be together again. Please tell my parents that I love them and everything is Ok with me. Don’t let them worry about me. I love you!

Describe:This picture was taken by Mathew Brady. In this picture, we can see the weather is very well with sunshine, so, many wounded soldiers are taking a rest under the trees. Some are sitting on the grass or chairs, some are lying down, and some have stood. Most of them were injured, because we can see the injured arm, leg or other injured places were bound by bandage. They all looks very tired because they are frowning.

The effect on the people who saw it: They should feel war is a bad thing. They will think about those people who are those soldiers’ relatives and friends, they must be worried for them every day. If they knew them injured, they must be very sad.

The effect on me: I admire them for their courage. While I very much sympathy for them, I hope that the war will soon be over and they are still alive when the war finished.

Describe: This picture came from Mathew Brady.In this picture, we can a low stone wall which was built by soldiers to resist enemy.     There is a trench next to the wall which was the place to protect soldiers. In the trench some dead soldiers are lying in disorder. Their guns, hats, clothes and canteens were thrown all over the floor.

The effect on the people who saw it: This picture shows a sad and dreary view. The people who saw it should feel sympathy for those dead people. They will be proud for their activity because they sacrificed their lives to stick their faith.

The effect on me: I felt very sad and I knew the war is very cruel.I hope there is no any war in the world.

Advantages:

1. It had the advantage terrain.
2. It had a military tradition that encouraged young men to serve in the armed forces or attend a military school. While many people had experience in the Civil War.
3. It had some great leadership commanders.

Disadvantages:

1. The population less than the North.
2. It lacked a number of essential factories and industries which supplied the basically war materials.
3. The slave population which is a part of rebellion and assistance to the Northern cause.
4. The transportation is poorer than the north.

North:

Advantages:

1. Its population was several times than the South.
2. The North had a better transportation network, mainly highways, canals, and railroads, which made it is easier of the transportation in military field.
3. It has sea supremacy, the Union navy was more capable and dominant, while the army was better trained and better supplied.
4. There was more authorization of the north as the legitimate government in U.S around the world. So, it has more loans and trade concessions.

Disadvantages:

 Some senior generals did not successfully utilize the weaknesses of the South and accept the suggestions of their commander-in-chief.
